Vehicle Page The vehicle page has pictures and information about a specific vehicle that will be run through the auction. There is important information on the page, and it should be studied carefully. Although with that said, A&A does not guarantee any information on this page and Copart says this page is for convenience only. You should print this page, make your notes on it, and bring it with you when you go to Copart's yard to inspect the vehicle. Some noteworthy explanations- ACV- The Actual Cash Value is normally close to high Blue Book on undamaged, clean titled vehicles in excellent condition. Do not put too much credence in this figure. Title State/Type- A&A does not allow bidding in Ohio, Michigan, Alabama, Wisconsin,or Washington state. A&A does not allow bidding on junk or non-rebuildable titles. Salvage and clean titles are acceptable. We do not recommend bidding on California Acquisition Bill of Sale (junk). If you are not in California absolutely do not bid on a vehicle with a California Acquisition Bill of Sale. But, there are Copart California title designations that will allow a dealer a clean title, with all others Acquisition. These are ok to bid on as you are bidding through our dealer's license then you will receive a clean title. You can hover your mouse over these title types and an explanation will pop up. If there is a (P) next to the title type this means the title will take longer to get sent out- possibly 2 to 3 weeks. Odometer- This is critical. Is it actual or not actual? Keys- Remember even if the keys are available, Copart will not guarantee the keys when you pick up the vehicle. Special Note- Watch for DMV fees due. Copart does not disclose the amount of the fees. Transporters- Do your search early to get the lowest estimates on uShip. More information is under "Post Sale"/ "Transporting", including contact information for FasterFreight. Inspectors- If you can't get to the Copart yard to inspect the vehicle yourself, you should hire an inspector. They are all independent and we do not know or recommend any particular inspector. We suggest that you call two or three of them and see who you like. Ask them how much they charge and what is their experience. Are they just going to walk around the car and discuss it with you on a cell phone or are they going to write you up a report? You should not bid on any vehicles that have not been inspected. Add to Watchlist- Click on this for vehicles that you are interested in, so you don't have go back and search for them again. Run and Drive Verification- This is very important, especially when you go to the yard the day before or the morning of the auction or if you hire an inspector. Remember, Run and Drive Verification only means the engine will start and idle and the vehicle will move foward a few feet under it's own power. The engine could be junk, but it will still start and idle. With this verification you can ask for the keys to be brought out and the engine started so you can listen to it run. AutoCheck- If the full VIN number is available, you can run a history report. Sometimes these help, sometimes not. Copart charges a fee for this. Item # / Grid/Row- You need the item number for the Virtual Live Auction. For more information go to "Bidding"/ "Live Virtual Auction". Sales Status- This will show either Pure Sale, On Minimum, or On Approval. For information on Sales Status go to "Bidding/ Approval Minimum". Your Maximum Bid:- This is where you place your Preliminary Bid. For more information go to the drop down "Bidding" and "Preliminary" Glossary of Terms- This link is very useful, and many people don't even know it's there. You can find information on damage codes, item numbers, title types, and more. Remember, Be Careful and Do Your Research. |
